Terms of Service

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Handiers Inc. ("Handymap", "we", "us") and govern your use of Handymap.ai, including the website, the map, the AI assistant and any related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you claim or create a business listing, the Business Listing Agreement also applies to you.

1. What Handymap is

Handymap is a map and directory that helps people find home-service professionals ("Pros") such as contractors, plumbers, electricians and handymen near them.

  • Listings from public records. Many listings are created from public license data published by state licensing boards, such as the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR). These listings exist whether or not the business has joined Handymap.
  • Claimed and created listings. A Pro can claim an existing listing or create a new one and then add a logo, contact details, hours, photos of recent work and other information.
  • We are not a party to your job. Handymap does not perform, schedule, supervise or pay for any work. We do not employ Pros, act as their agent, or endorse, recommend or guarantee any Pro. Any agreement for work is solely between the homeowner and the Pro.

2. Your responsibility when hiring

Information on Handymap, including license status, may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Public records are copied periodically and can lag behind the source. Before you hire anyone, you are responsible for checking the Pro's license directly with the state board, confirming insurance and bonding, getting a written estimate and contract, and deciding whether the Pro is right for your job. "Claimed" and "verified" labels only mean that someone proved control of a phone number linked to the listing. They are not a background check, a quality rating or an endorsement.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account.
  • You can sign in with a mobile phone number (we text you a one-time code) or a Google account. Keep access to your phone and Google account secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not impersonate anyone or create accounts for others without permission.
  • We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or put others at risk.

4. Content you post

"Your Content" means anything you submit to the Service, such as names, profile details, photos, captions and messages to the AI assistant.

  • You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant Handymap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, resize, adapt (for example, create thumbnails) and distribute Your Content to operate, improve and promote the Service. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time or where we must keep them by law.
  • You are responsible for Your Content and must have the rights to post it. Photos must not show private information of other people without their consent.
  • Not allowed: content that is false or misleading, infringes someone else's rights, is obscene, hateful, harassing or threatening, contains other people's personal information, advertises unrelated products, or breaks the law. Names that are offensive or impersonate Handymap staff are refused automatically.
  • We may review, refuse, hide or remove content and listings at our discretion, but we are not obligated to monitor the Service.

5. The AI assistant

The assistant suggests which kind of Pro may fit the job you describe or photograph and filters the map accordingly. Its answers are generated automatically, may be wrong, and are not professional, safety, legal or financial advice. Do not rely on it for emergencies; for gas leaks, electrical hazards, fire or flooding, contact emergency services or your utility first. Do not include sensitive personal information in messages or photos. What you send to the assistant is processed by our AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Calls, texts and verification codes

When you call or text a Pro from a listing, that communication happens through your own phone carrier, outside Handymap. We do not record or monitor it. Verification codes we send by text or voice call may incur message and data rates from your carrier.

7. Fees

The Service is free during the beta, for homeowners and for Pros. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you before they apply to you and will not charge you without your agreement.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape, crawl or harvest listings, contact details or other data from the Service by automated means, or use it to build a competing directory or mailing list;
  • send spam, solicitations or unwanted messages to Pros or homeowners using information found on Handymap;
  • claim, or try to claim, a listing for a business you are not authorized to represent, or use someone else's phone number to pass verification;
  • interfere with the Service, probe or bypass security or rate limits, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, discriminatory, or harmful to others.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, the Handymap name and logo, is owned by Handymap and its licensors and is protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use our trademarks. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, served by OpenFreeMap. Public license data remains subject to the terms of the publishing state agencies.

10. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Beta and changes to the Service

Handymap is in beta. Features may change, break or be removed, and data may be reset or lost. We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANDYMAP DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LISTINGS, LICENSE INFORMATION OR AI SUGGESTIONS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT, OR THAT ANY PRO IS QUALIFIED, LICENSED, INSURED OR WILL PERFORM SATISFACTORILY.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANDYMAP AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, OR FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY DISPUTE ARISING FROM WORK PERFORMED OR NOT PERFORMED BY A PRO. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Handymap against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or any work you perform or hire someone to perform.

15. Ending your use

You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account at support@handiers.com. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content licenses for backups, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) survive termination.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Handymap consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will give notice on the Service or by contacting you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
